4 Tips for Spring Wine Pairing

Spring awakens all your senses. Here are 4 tips for wine pairings.
  1. Balance Acidity – The wine should have more acidity than the salads or foods you are pairing. The acidity balances the bitterness of leafy greens for example. Try a Viognier.
  2. Consider Richness – The richness of seared Ahi tuna pairs beautifully with the lush fruit, spice, & a kiss of oak in wines like Grenache or Pinot Noir.
  3. Spice & Smoke – Fire up that grill or smoker but take that cooking method into consideration when choosing the wine. Grilled rack of lamb with herbs sings in perfect harmony with Syrah’s black & blue fruit characteristics.
  4. Rosé & Fresh Fruit – Wines with floral notes tend to enhance fresh fruit. LDV’s new 2020 Rosé of Grenache has intense fruit flavors that will play off the sweetness of strawberry shortcake & slice through the whipped cream.
