How cold is too cold, how warm is too warm? There is a lot of confusion around this topic. Most red wine that is stored at room temperature is too warm to serve. The perfect temperature is between 60-70 degrees. There is a difference between slightly chilled and cold. Most whites right out of the refrigerator are served too cold so you are not able to enjoy the aromas and flavor nuances. White and Rosé wines are typically served chilled (40-45 degrees) while the average refrigerator can be set at just above freezing.
Here are two tips to serving wine at the perfect temperature.
1. If you have your white wine in the refrigerator, take it out for 15 minutes before serving.
2. If you have been storing your red wine at room temperature, put it into the refrigerator for 15 minutes before serving.
