Curt in the Dirt - Winery Updates Back to Curt in the Dirt

April, 2018

We call this time in the vineyard “white knuckle farming” because bud break has occurred, and a late spring frost is still a possibility well into the first part of May. All 12,000 vines and four wine grape varietals have come alive after winter pruning. We have adjusted our watering schedule and augmented the soil with nutrients. The vineyard is prepared for hopefully a terrific growing season.

LDV Winery

In honor of LDV’s 10th Anniversary we are going to do some planting of new vines. Join us where it all began. On Earth Day, we will be planting vine, discussing our sustainable agriculture and winemaking practices, touring the winery, and enjoying a BBQ lunch paired with wine. Each participant will get the chance to plant a few vines in the vineyard. How many people can say they have done that?
