Curt in the Dirt - Winery Updates Back to Curt in the Dirt

January, 2018

Winter has set in at LDV. After another very mild and dry fall that had us irrigating right through the end of the year, winter dormancy has taken place and pruning is about to begin in January and carry over into February. Our pruning methodology developed last year was extremely successful and we are planning on replicating that process again this year. We achieved better spacing of clusters to increase ventilation that reduced mildew and bunch rot without sacrificing yield - all good!

We will be going through the vineyard to clean up any late summer/fall weeds before the vines start to wake up in March. Can’t believe another growing season is at our doorstep but there is no stopping it now!
